This policy explains what BlueTarg collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers bluetarg.com and everything on it — the free tools, the shop, and the Pro Pet Pass membership.
Who we are
BlueTarg publishes practical dog-care guides, free interactive tools and a small range of dog products. Our website address is https://bluetarg.com. You can reach us through our contact page.
What we collect, and why
If you just read the site
We collect standard analytics: pages viewed, approximate location by country or region, device and browser type, and how you arrived. This is collected through Google Analytics and is used to understand which guides are useful. We do not use it to identify you personally.
If you use a free tool
Our free tools — the Dog Wellness Planner, Toxin Risk Checker, Puppy Timeline, Sitter Handoff Generator and Pet Care Vault — run in your browser. What you type into them is saved in your own browser’s local storage on your own device. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data deletes it.
The Sitter Portal is an exception worth understanding: the plan you build is encoded into the link itself. Nothing is stored on our servers, but anyone you send that link to can open it, so share it only with people you intend to.
If you create an account or join Pro
We collect your name, email address and username. Payment is handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
If you use the member tools, we store the information you enter about your dog on our servers, linked to your account: name, date of birth, breed, sex, weight readings, body condition scores, quality-of-life entries and any notes you add. This exists so your history follows you between devices, and so you can print a summary for your vet.
This is not a veterinary medical record. It is a personal log you keep for your own use. Please do not rely on it as your dog’s official clinical history — your vet holds that.
If you buy something
We collect the details needed to fulfil the order: name, billing and delivery address, email, phone number and what you bought. Card payments are processed by Stripe and WooPayments. Order records are retained for accounting and tax purposes.
If you subscribe to the newsletter
We collect your email address and pass it to Brevo, who send the emails on our behalf. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you immediately.
Advertising and cookies
We use cookies for site functionality, analytics, and advertising.
- Essential cookies keep you logged in, remember your basket and make checkout work. The site cannot function without these.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) tell us which pages are read.
- Advertising cookies are used by third-party vendors to serve ads.
Specifically:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or the NAI opt-out page.

You can also refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may stop parts of the site working, particularly the shop and your member account.

Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the services needed to run the site:
- Stripe and WooPayments — payment processing
- Brevo — newsletter delivery
- Google Analytics and Google AdSense — analytics and advertising
- Hostinger — website hosting
- Titan Email — sending account and order emails
Each of these processes data under its own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Account and dog-profile data is kept until you delete it or close your account. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention settings.
Your rights
You can:
- Download your data. Signed-in members can export everything stored about their dogs from the Pro Member Hub.
- Delete your data. The same page has a delete option that permanently removes every dog profile and saved reading from your account. This cannot be undone.
- Ask us directly. Contact us and we will export, correct or erase your personal data. We will not keep data we are not obliged to keep.
If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
